HAPPY HALLOWEEN AT PLANTASIA TROPICAL ZOO! | GLASS SLIPPER EVENTS

A spellbinding family-friendly Halloween in Swansea

Join us at Plantasia Tropical Zoo in Swansea for a magical family-friendly Halloween event. Meet your three favourite spooky characters – Maleficent, Wednesday and Sally – from Glass Slipper Events as they bring music, mischief and a touch of theatrical fun to the jungle!

Enjoy performances from the treehouse balcony at half past every hour. After each performance, make your way to the treehouse doors to meet all three characters and capture some wonderfully wicked photos together.

As a zoo, Halloween is also our opportunity to shine a positive light on the creatures that are often misunderstood. For bookings later in the day why not join us for our Halloween Special Tour: Truth AND Dare – Poachers Beware! This tour is available at 3pm on Saturday 31 October 2026 (more dates in half term). Discover why spiders, snakes and other “creepy crawlies” play an essential role in our ecosystem — and why they deserve respect rather than fear. This special tour is a guided tour of the zoo where visitors can learn about the myths of the animals we have at the zoo and correct them (Truth!). They will also get an opportunity to volunteer to hold some of the animals (Dare!).

Families can enter our themed Halloween competition for the chance to win a cuddly toy and a family ticket to the zoo, and children of all ages can enjoy Halloween-inspired colouring-in activities during their visit. There will also be complimentary face painting.

Creative Halloween Activities for Children

Families visiting during the event can also enjoy Halloween-themed colouring activities, perfect for creative little ones who want a calm moment between adventures.

These simple craft activities are always popular with younger visitors and give children the chance to create something special to take home from their visit.

Children can also enjoy complimentary face painting from the friendly and talented team at Shani’s Glitter and Paints, adding an extra spooky magic to the day.

Introducing the ‘Spud Trail’ for Autumn Half Term 2026

Meet Spud, our small but mighty star, who has lost his pumpkin!

If you follow Plantasia Tropical Zoo you’ll know that Spud, one of our Egyptian tortoises, though very little, is a BIG deal. This Halloween he has carelessly misplaced his favourite pumpkin. And he is sad. We need some eagle-eyed explorers to help him find it!

£1 Trail at Plantasia Tropical Zoo Available 23 October – 1 November 2026

For all of Half Term week you can add a £1 trail and upgrade your general admission experience. Learn all about Spud and his tortoise friends, find the answers to the trail quiz as you explore the zoo which will lead Spud to the pumpkin.

You can buy a £1 trail (which includes pencil and certificate!) when you book your usual general admission online or buy one when you arrive. Spud Trail is available to add onto general admission from 23 October – 1 November 2026.

Explore the Zoo

Of course, your ticket isn’t just for the Halloween event — it includes full access to Plantasia Tropical Zoo.
