DINOMANIA IN PLANTASIA

As seen on Britain's Got Talent

Join us at various dates throughout 2024 for Dinomania in Plantasia, as Plantasia Tropical Zoo transports back to the prehistoric age when Dinosaurs ruled the jungle!

A fun experience for all the family! Along with exploring our zoo full of amazing animals…

  • On the hour, every hour – You can meet a baby dinosaur (20mins)
  • Quarter to every hour – Come and meet a large Dino (15mins)
  • Complete our Dino trail for some extra prehistoric fun!

FREE Silver Safari & Garden Adventure

For those aged 50+ only
Age 50+? Join us for your FREE Silver Safari & Garden Adventure, an immersive 90-minute experience led by both an expert zookeeper and gardener.
Explore our tropical rainforest zoo, where you’ll get up close and personal with many of the 40+ species of animals housed within. Learn fascinating facts about these creatures and their habitats.
The adventure continues as you delve into our collection of exotic plants. Our gardening team will guide you through the lush greenery, sharing insights into the diverse flora that thrives in our tropical environment. You’ll also have the opportunity to participate in a ‘Gardeners’ Question Time’, where you can ask our experts about plant care, gardening tips, and more.The tour concludes with a relaxing social time in our Canopy Café. Enjoy a complimentary drink and snack while you unwind and chat with fellow explorers.

FURRY TAILS FROM THE ZOO

Monthly toddler story-telling / arts and crafts hour

Furry Tails from the Zoo: Our engaging sessions blend the magic of storytelling, creative crafts, and hands-on animal handling, providing an enchanting early-learning experience. As they explore our lush jungle setting, filled with over 40 fascinating species, toddlers discover the wonders of nature up close. These interactive sessions not only stimulate young minds but also nurture a love for animals and the environment. Join us for a delightful blend of education and fun, tailored just for your curious kids!

  • General Admission to the zoo – feel free to stay and explore for as long as you like after the toddler hour
  • A story-telling session
  • A crafts session
  • Animal handling experience with a zookeeper
  • 20% discount valid for that day in the Canopy Café

Pesky Pirates & Fabulous Fairies

A fairy-tale struggle between good and wicked!

Watch the fairy-tale adventure unfold between the mean and possibly Pesky Pirates, and the small but Fabulous Fairies!

Meet your mythical heroes all day at Plantasia Tropical Zoo as we celebrate the age-old squabble between good and wicked in our family event with Glass Slipper Events Wales

Wallace: The forgotten evolutionist

A celebration of 200 YEARS OF ALFRED RUSSEL WALLACE:

Wallace was many things – an intrepid explorer, a brilliant naturalist, a social activist, a political commentator – overall a remarkable intellectual. In his time he collected over 125,000 animal specimens, published more than 800 articles and wrote 22 books

Plantasia Tropical Zoo’s treehouse has been transformed into a fabulous representation of Alfred Russel Wallace’s jungle research hut in the Amazon Rainforest. Featuring storyboards with fascinating tales of his life and discoveries, explorer artefacts and a dress-up area.

Access to the exhibition is included with General Admission Please be aware that access will be restricted weekdays between 10am-2pm when in use by school groups

NAS Swansea Quiet Hour

Regular Autism Quiet Hours in partnership with the National Autistic Society Swansea

We are honoured to work with NAS Swansea on a regular basis to deliver suitable Quiet Hour events at Plantasia Tropical Zoo.

NAS Swansea Branch is a volunteer-led charity supporting autistic people and their families in and around Swansea. They organise different events and activities for autistic people and their families / carers which are run across the area and include coffee mornings, autism courses and workshops, understanding autism talks for businesses, organisations and charities, all-year-round autism events, and much more.

Our quiet hours for 2024 will take place on the following dates:

Special out of hours events that are inclusive for all

InclusAbility is a community interest organisation that run a number a family day trips to wonderful places throughout the year that are inclusive of all!

We are delighted to welcome their members for special events at Plantasia Tropical Zoo.
