Over forty amazing animals and a multitude of plants are waiting to be discovered! Choose from curriculum linked workshops delivered by our knowledgeable crew, or feel free to design your own self-guided visit.

Workshops and Tours

Your school or group can spend the day with us and complete one of our curriculum linked workshops and tours. All of these can be adapted to the needs of your school/group, and the age group attending.

Admission, plus a Workshop or Tour costs just £195 per class

  • Packages are for a maximum of 30 children, but more than one class can be accommodated each day.
  • We recommend 2-4 hours for your workshop visits.
  • Workshops last 60 minutes, leaving time for lunch and self guided exploration.
  • Start time is 10.30am.

ECO-WARRIORS WORKSHOP

Best suited to Key Stage 2 and above, this engaging workshop encourages learners to consider human impacts on the environment around us, inspiring a generation of ethically informed citizens.
Encountering some of our incredible animals
along the way, the workshop aims to nurture
understanding of our own role in the environment and give learners some of the tools they need to
make their own, informed decisions.

RAINFOREST RANGERS

Come along on an incredible imaginary adventure through the layers of the tropical rainforest. Learn all about what tropical rainforests are, where
they are, what they do for us and why they are so important, meeting some amazing animals along the way. This workshop delves into important topics such as deforestation and animal adaptations, and is recommended for learners at Key Stage 2, though all ages are welcome.

MARVELLOUS MINIBEASTS

An immersive, hands-on experience in which we discover the marvellous world of the minibeasts. Children are introduced to animals from different habitats all over the world, exploring what they are, what they do and where they are from. The
workshop is highly recommended for Key Stage 1 as a sensory experience, but can be adapted to all stages of learning, and makes an excellent stepping stone, inspiring further research back in the classroom.

PREDATORS & PREY:
THE FOOD CHAIN

Learn all about the trophic levels, and the ways in which animals adapt to their roles in the food chain. Meet some of our awesome animals up close, and build 3D food chains of your own in this exciting, interactive workshop

ROOTS, SHOOTS,
FLOWERS & LEAVES

Learn all about the role and functions of plants in our remarkable tropical hothouse. Discuss what plants need to survive, and their importance in the environment.

SELF GUIDED

Self Guided Exploration

Design your own self guided visit, where you can explore the amazing animals and plants of the rainforest, whilst sketching, photographing, or completing one of our Ranger Trails.

We can help tailor the visit to the learning requirements and the age of your pupils.

Self Guided Admission £105 per class

  • Up to 30 per class but multiple classes can visit at once.
  • More than one class can be accommodated at one time
  • Recommended time for Self guided experiences is 90 minutes but you can stay as long as you like

Our animals love to go on amazing adventures!

Plantasia on the Road outreach events can be a cost-effective solution to bring educational experiences directly to schools and communities, eliminating the need for travel. Our hands-on activities and live demonstrations create a dynamic learning environment, fostering curiosity and active participation. Each session can be customized to align with your specific curriculum requirements or the interests of a particular group. This tailored approach enhances the relevance of the content, making it more impactful for participants. Students will be able to see and interact with concepts in their own environment, making learning more tangible and memorable.

We offer unique educational workshops, delivered by a member of our professional crew, in your very own classroom.

  • Outreach sessions cost from £195
  • Duration: 60 minutes. Longer sessions available.

HOME EDUCATION

Where Home Education Meets Wildlife Wonders and Conservation Adventures

Attention home-educated families! Plantasia Tropical Zoo invites you to embark on an educational adventure like no other. Whether you’re exploring the world of nature, conservation, or animals, we have something special for you.

Join us on Tuesday 10th September 2024 from 10:15 am for a Tropical Home Education Adventure for children aged 5 – 9yrs. Immerse yourselves in our Rainforest Rangers workshop on an imaginary adventure through the layers of the tropical rainforest.
